| Astoria Greengrass | | PB: Anna Maria Mühe Astoria is still young, only 14, but she is rather pretty. One word that would describe her in a nutshell would be small, a fact that frustrates her. She is rather short with small facial features. A small round face, rather thin lips and a little nose. Though she does have rather large blue eyes. She has blonde hair that more often than not she wears out and hangs wavy with little thought. She handles her clothes similarly, often wearing robes in a variety of colours, her favourite being blue. | | | | | | | | personality | Astoria has always been an inquisitive person - as a child she pestered her parents with questions about how everything worked. As she grew this did not change. Before her father died, he could always give her the answers. She wanted to be just like him and thus always sought knowledge. However, when her father died she realized she did not have that person who could answer all her questions. Instead she was forced to find her answers by herself, and she found it was a way to entertain herself as well as to escape her grief. For a while after the death she often found herself alone, and had no need for social interaction, often leading her to be cool and uncaring to most people. However, as true friends do, many stuck by her. They taught her the value of true friendship and for that she is eternally grateful. As such to those she is close and comfortable with she is extremely loyal and affectionate. While the years have gone by she has come out of her shell a little, especially with her close friends and family, but to the outside world she is still the quite girl in the corner. However normally she is more likely to stay quite. She prefers to sit to the side and be observant and to wait for the right moment to act. When she does this she expresses her views eloquently and intelligently. In fact if her view is challenged, especially if it is about a view she is passionate about, she can become quite argumentative. Though she still always tries to keep her cool, it is only rarely when she truly loses her emotions. This often means that she makes judgments about people before she actually meets them properly. She is in fact so secure about her own intelligence that she rarely if ever accepts that she is wrong. In this way she is arrogant. This arrogance often leads her to be haughty to people she considers of lesser intelligence. In fact she is willing to accept those of lesser blood but only rarely. She believes that purebloods are almost always the better people the most beautiful, intelligent, talented, worthy. However the key word on her beliefs is almost. She accepts that there are some cases where a half blood could in fact be worthy of positions usually reserved for purebloods. But this is extremely rare normally she sticks by views reflecting pureblood superiority. Being intelligent and inquisitive she always felt that she should dedicate herself to her studies. This is especially the case when she decided she wanted to be an Unspeakable she knows how good her grades need to be so she is willing to put in the effort to get what she wants. | | history | Astoria grew up the youngest of her family of four with her mother, father and sister Daphne. They were all pretty close, often they would go out together to see the latest Quidditch match or have a simple picnic. Her father had always been an inquisitive and intelligent man and worked in the Department of Mysteries. Astoria always wished to know what he did but it was always kept quiet. It was probably why she became so interested in magical theory or maybe it was because she wanted to be like her father. Her sister and her were also close. As young girls they would constantly play together and were basically the best of friends. At age 11 she went to Hogwarts as was expected and she loved it from the beginning. The beautiful old castle, the magic in the air, the lessons, it was all amazing. Unlike her sister she was not sorted into Slytherin but into Ravenclaw, to her sister's slight surprise, after all, she wanted her sister with her. But Astoria was not surprised even though in some ways she is a little ambitious; her thirst for knowledge has always surpassed any other trait. She made a few close friends and all seemed all to be going well. But life it rarely ever stays that way. On the winter of her second year her mother and sister were waiting around for their father at dinner, he was a little late, but with his job such things can happen that way. Until, of course, an owl came through the window. She remembered her mother’s face that night; the shock that was written on her face and the little squeal she made. She tried to put on a brave face, but they both new there was something wrong. She took them to their grandparent’s house and quickly dashed off to St Mungos telling the girls everything would be fine, their father had just had a little accident at work. Yet it was far from a little accident. That night he died, destroying the family’s world. Her mother was distraught but she tried to put on a face for the girls. Daphne became closer to her mother but Astoria was in shock. She could not comprehend it, often both sisters would fall asleep in their mother's bed all three hugging and crying themselves to sleep. As the months passed she found her own way to grieve. She kept to herself and read. She was determined to learn more about everything, hoping to distract herself and subconsciously find out what happened to her father. His job as an unspeakable was always secret, not even her mother was told exactly how her father died. It affected her relationship with her friends too. When she went back to Hogwarts they were not her priority, she became cod and aloof to most people and did not bother socializing. However not all left her, some understood what she was going through. They comforted her and she was immensely grateful. As time went on she has began to understand how much they mean to her and how thankful she is to them As the years continued to go past she did grow more open, but still it was only to her close friends, she was still very reserved to most others | | credit to splott at rp_tutorials | | | 8:48 pm |
| Rodolphus Lestrange | | PB: Jeremy Irons In his youth Rodolphus was an attractive and striking man. He had brown hair, which he used to normally cuts short. He has bright blue eyes, that while they can be seen as an attractive feature, are hampered by the fact that they are usually glaring and frighten people away. This is not helped by the fact that he used to have a very large and muscular build, that was useful when he wanted to be a threat without using magic. However as you would expect, three trips in Azkaban and his age has taken a tool on his looks. Only shadows remain of his former looks leaving him gaunt and down right frightening. His once toned body has faded, his skin is now wrinkled and his hair is now graying. But worst of all are his eyes. All around is gaunt, and his eyes appear to have a dead look about them, like nothing could ever make them happy. As well, Azkaban, and his work for the Dark Lord, has left his body scarred. In almost every place, there is some kind of scar and he has a terrible limp in his right leg. On his left forearm he used to have the Dark Mark which he was always unsure how to feel about it. On one hand, it made him proud to serve such a powerful man, on the other it made him grow angry thinking how such a man treated the woman he loved. Whatever the case it has now faded completely when the Dark Lord died. | | | | | | | | personality | In many ways Rodolphus is the perfect Slytherin. He is a rather cold and he rarely shows his emotions to anyone. As well he is not social, and thus does not bother communicating with many people. He much prefers staying quite, and waiting for the right opportunity to say or do something. This leads him to scrutinize those before he meets them and automatically judge them. Luckily, he is usually accurate, but when he is wrong he ends up with egg on his face. On the other hand it is very different if he respects you and you are a good acquaintance. He can be friendly and above all loyal. While it is hard for him to be close to anyone if earnt it will last forever. In some ways it may lead him to be slightly naive in assessing anyone he is truly loyal too. Moreover he is a determined and ambitious individual. He seeks to do his best in anything he does and to get the highest rank in life. He will do whatever it takes, if ethical or not, which is assisted by the fact he is pretty resourceful. This could lead him to do anything particularly involving violence which he enjoys in a sadistic manner. His age, Azkaban, and his wife’s death has seriously affected him. His is now more withdrawn rarely saying anything. But he is always thinking, almost being left lost in his thoughts. There is rage bottled up in him, eager to get out like a bomb. He seeks revenge and he is gong to do whatever it takes to get it. | | history | Rodolphus was born to the traditional pure blood family. While in some respects they were strict (to ensure he grew up the right way) he knew that they were tough but fair. In fact he loved his family dearly, especially his little brother who was his best friend At Hogwarts he went reasonably in school, being interested in academics and theories of magic. He had a small group of friends who were all Slytherin and passionate about their heritage as his parents wanted. As they aged they became interested in the Death Eaters, but Bellatrix always the most extreme. At eighteen Bellatrix introduced him to the Dark Lord and it slowly became his focus as his rank as a pureblood required. He rose through the ranks and was high in the inner circle when the Dark Lord originally fell. His relationship with Bella was also a large part of his life. They dated a few times at Hogwarts, but always Rodolphus cared about her more then she did for him. When they were in their early twenties they began their relationship again, more seriously this time. By Bella’s encouragement they married. He loved her dearly, and for a while they were happy. However her obvious fondness for the Dark Lord led to issues in the couple. When the Dark Lord fell Rodolphus followed Bella to find the Dark Lord. While he did want the influence of the Death Eaters back, he was no where near as passionate as her. They got caught and sent to Azkaban. As you would expect it was unimaginable and was obviously the worst part of his life. He was thankful when the Dark Lord freed him and he was eager to prove his worth. But it did not work out like that, after less than six months he was sent to Azkaban again. After he got out he was seriously injured when trying to attack Harry Potter as he moved from his muggle relatives. Life with Bella was never the same. They grew distant, as Bella became increasingly uninterested with her husband, however he still cared for her dearly. As a Death Eater he was of course involved in the Battle of Hogwarts. There he fought by his wife’s side, as often as possible, it was one thing they were at least connected through. He was thrilled when Harry Potter died, it just seemed that everything would go right, and he and Bella could maybe rekindle some sort of relationship with the battle won. But that never happened. It seemed Potter’s death inspired everyone and they all fought back. He lost Beallatrix in the crowd and he was too distracted by his own opponent. Fighting his way around the room he entered the Great Hall. A stray incarcerous spell hit him and he fell to the ground still conscious but unable to move. Laying there he spots Bella and watches as she duels her three opponents. When Molly Weasley joins the fray his laughter echoed with his wife, but then a curse hit her. He was shocked and he watched as his wife fell to the ground. He remembered tears fell down his face and all he could focus on was where his wife had fallen. When the Dark Lord too joined his wife among the fallen he just felt numb. He was in too much pain already. They dragged him to Azkaban and there he stayed for three years. He was sure that if there were dementors and with Bella’s death still fresh in his mind he would not have survived. But he did. He lived on pure anger sheer thirst for revenge. By the time he was freed he was thrilled and revenge was still on his mind. | | credit to splott at rp_tutorials | | | 8:37 pm |
| Hermione Jane Granger | | PB- Kate Bosworth Hermione is a plain girl, not attractive or even unattractive for that matter, just normal. She is of normal height and of normal build, she has never been one of the girls to worry about her weight. As a teenager her hair was extremely bushy and uncontrollable. She tried numerous ways to fix it and often wore it up and out of her face. Now however it has tamed but is still very wavy and often the day after she washes it still a bit uncontrollable. She rather likes her eyes probably because Ron often comments on them. They are a light brown, though she is not ridiculous enough to describe them as chocolate coloured. Normally she dresses in robes usually of dark blue, purple or black. Underneath she wears appropriate under clothes usually buttoned shirts and pants or a nice skirt and stockings. Her manner of speaking is usually quite formal as she likes to keep herself composed and tries to use polite and intelligent manner of speaking. However when she grows emotional she finds her voice often grows too high like when she was a teenager. Another thing that annoys her. | | | | | | | | personality | Hermione is the type of person who likes to be in control. She likes to always do what needs to be done and do it to the best of her ability. She is a loyal and kind friend and compassionate to those who need help. Ever since Harry died she always wants to put on a tough face make it seem like everything is okay. But the problem is it is not. She misses him dearly and his death and so many others still scars her. Sometimes she has moments of vulnerability best solved with a chat with friends or even better a cuddle with Ron. Ever since she was young she always accepted authority. She did what her parents and teachers told her to do, because they were the most experienced and thus should be respected. However her years at Hogwarts did make her question this idea. She learnt that those in power do not always deserve unquestionable loyalty her dealings with the Ministry of Magic cemented this view. Now she does not blindly, follow however generally if most authorities earn her respect she is likely to follow them As a younger teenager she was not good in social settings. She seemed over confidence, which in fact was more a shield than anything. She wanted to prove she was worthy often leading her to be seen as a show off. However her friendship with Ron and Harry changed this. She learnt this was not the way to act and she began to relax. While she still was a tad of a know it all she was also extremely loyal, thoughtful and compassionate. In fact compassion became a key part of her personality. If she saw an injustice she wanted to fix it. This morphed into SPEW as she did not see why they should be treated differently. However in many ways sometimes these quests are too idealistic and in many ways she is a little naive. In many ways Hermione is the perfect student and employee. She is extremely intelligent and uses her logic to solve problems. The fact that she is hardworking and motivated makes this even better. As well, she is extremely organized and likes to make things perfect. However when things do not turn out she can become very stressed and dismissive | | history | Hermione started life as an ordinary middle class girl, with two loving and ordinary muggle dentists as parents. They loved her dearly and perhaps spoiled her a little as an only child can sometimes be. They taught her that she can do anything she wants to do and encouraged her academic pursuits. At primary school she excelled. She tried to help others who needed it but she ended up coming off as bossy and a know it all. Her looks did not help much; she was always the girl with the bushy hair and the big beaver teeth. She made one or two friends but, when it was time to move to high school she ended up going to a Private School and she doubted they would keep in contact. She was right, but for very different reasons. One day an odd stranger came to visit them she was tall with graying hair and slightly stern look on her face. She was Professor McGonagal and she told Hermione and her stunned parents that she was a witch. The Granger’s were shocked and disbelieving; after all they were a logical bunch and didn’t see how magic could exist. But McGonagall showed them magic and explained the situation, and it was accepted, after all often odd things did happen around Hermione. Before Hogwarts she was ridiculously nervous and it was annoying to poor Hermione that was so ignorant. She swore to fix that and she quickly sort to learn as much as possible, about the world and her classes. Going on the train she tried showing that she knew these things, but it did not work out. Like in the muggle world people thought she was a bossy know it all and she found no friends. One day she heard a group of her housemates, including the famous Harry Potter, discussing her and she heard how they called her a know it and annoying. That was the final straw. She ran and stayed in a bathroom absolutely distraught. But then as she was sitting there, a troll appeared and she was so scared, but then Harry Potter and Ron Weasley came. They saved her, and at that moment, they taught her how to behave and that she did not know everything. She took the blame, even though it made the teachers angry, something she never wanted to do. But more importantly she gained two friends for life. After that life just seemed to get better. Hogwarts just seemed so much more enjoyable. But there was an issue with having Harry Potter as a friend; everything seemed to happen to him. Her years were extremely eventful leading her on a voyage down the trap door, getting petrified, having a fight with her best friend and to using a time turner to save a wanted man. At the end of her forth year Harry saw Voldemort come back and it changed everyone’s lives forever. Her life and most people around her were now threatened. Being so close to Harry it was not just his fight, but often, her and Ron’s too. At the end of fifth year, she along with five others, went with Harry to the ministry. Here many of them were injured and she learnt of the true power of the Death Eater’s, and her sixth year was no different. But in her seventh year it all got worse. Dumbledore died and the Death Eater’s truly took over. Harry told them about the horcruxes, how he had to destroy them to defeat Voldemort. She and Ron would of course not let him do it alone, they were always in it together as friends do. But the problem was it meant her parents were in danger, she obliterated their memory for their own sake. It was the hardest thing she had ever done. As she had always done, she planned everything, as much as she could, packed everything and got as much money as she could gather. When the burrow was attacked they were off on their quest. It was not how any of them thought it would be. While they successfully got the first, a locket, early on, the rest dragged. They spent months in a tent and Ron even left. He did eventually come back but not long after they were captured and taken to Malfoy Manor. There she was tortured but she refused to say anything, even though the pain was so severe They did get away and they even broke into Gringotts to get Hufflepuff’s cup. But then they were forced to go to Hogwarts where Voldemort had taken over. Here the true battle occurred, so many died, it was heartbreaking and in many ways it still sticks with her. Especially when Harry’s body was brought out. She could not believe it, how could he be dead, but he was. Voldemort was successfully defeated and in the end the world did eventually return to normal. But still there was no Harry. All the time, her and Ron miss him, now there is only the two of them truly left and in many ways their lives are empty without him. After she had two choices, she could enter the ministry, or she could return to school. In many ways there was no choice, even if it meant leaving Ron behind. She finished her schooling, in the only uneventful year she has ever had, she joked quite a few times that it just seemed too quite. As many expected her results on her NEWTS were superb and she was offered a job at the ministry. In the Department of The Regulation And Control Of Magical Creatures, her time at school she had seen first hand the injustices suffered by many. She knew she wanted to do something about it and thus her job seemed perfect. Hermione and Ron were always close, but always in another way than she and Harry. In her fourth year she felt jealous when he mentioned other girls and he became equally jealous when she dated Victor Krum. However in her sixth year she truly understood her true feelings for him, when he dated Lavender Brown. In many ways there relationship did develop that especially when they were looking for Horcruxes. At the battle of Hogwarts she finally kissed him, it signaled the start of their true relationship. Ever since then they have been very close comforting each other through everything. | | credit to splott at rp_tutorials | | | 8:14 pm |
| Bellatrix Lestrange | | DATE OF BIRTH: August the 14th 1951 WAND: Walnut and Dragon Heartstring 12 and ¾ inches Appearance: Bella has an imposing appearance and presence. She is tall with thick dark hair that she can do very little with and often just hangs curly and slightly wild. She has dark eyes that can be frightening if you are not friendly with her (which is most people). As well as this, after serving her Lord she has a few scars over her body from various duels. To Bella they are not a worry, only a sign of her devotion to the Dark Lord. Of course on her left forearm is the Dark Mark. Some may see it as frightening or ugly, but to Bella it is her favourite feature. Generally she dresses in the traditional pureblood clothes; often of darker colours, though she does have a slight weakness for a deep purple. However, like most of the rest of her appearance, her looks are no longer her priority, certainly not like her sister. | | Game | | | | | | personality | Bellatrix was brought up in a traditional pureblood family. As a Black she was taught to be better than everyone else, which led her to be extremely arrogant. As well she is cold, impolite, rude and harsh. To most she expects nothing less than respect, and she will take actions to demand that respect. To those who treat her as she believes she deserves she tolerates them to an extent. It is only very rare when she should truly act in a way akin to friendliness. Though this is only in very rare cases when she would show any ounce of caring and loyalty. In many ways Bella is a wild and passionate person. She holds nothing back in life. She is extremely impatient and hates waiting around. She sees no reason to, and as such prefers to take action. In this way she is an extremely energetic and outgoing person who would rarely be found sitting around relaxing. If she does something and truly believes in it, she would be determined to do whatever needs to be done. She expresses her views passionately and fights for them if there is even a slight threat to them. As unladylike as her mother may see her actions she does not care and is rarely discrete, she sees no reasons why she should be, as everyone should follow her views anyway. She easily jumps to conclusions if it's about an issue she is passionate about and will stubbornly hold these view even if she is wrong. This has led many to label her as mad because she seems to not be able to control her emotions. Bella lives her life to the extreme, like every day would be her last. She is carefree and does whatever she wants to and is almost never obedient; the only thing that would stop her would be an order from her master. In this way she is extremely independent and despises anyone who would offer her help and worst of all when she would need to accept that help. As well she is harsh and cruel. She shows no mercy to most and thinks that like her if they get into a situation than they should be able to get out of it. She also has a sadistic streak as she takes pleasure in exercising her power over others. She has always been this way and has always wanted to be in control of a situation and putting her victim under a curse is the best way to do that. This pleasure is increased if she has a real reason to do this; including punishing traitors and torturing muggleborns. In fact she has more than once said such activities are a stress relief. Though as bold and indiscrete as she is, she remains a Slytherin. She is actually rather intelligent (if she sees it worth the time to put the effort in) and cunning. She would do whatever it takes to get what she wants and is normal able to find a way to do it. Furthermore, ever since she was young she was skilled at magic, dueling in particular. She found it exhilarating as she was able to perform magic, be energetic and being able to dominate others in something she was naturally skilled at. In fact such feelings soon evolved to much magic in general. Especially the Dark Arts which drew her like a moth to a flame. In her family they never had much of a stigma and when she researched them she found an area with a wealth of information. They allowed her to have a distinct advantage in any confrontation she faced. Bellatrix quickly found that there was no other better form of magic. | | history | Bellatrix was born the eldest daughter of her family, which led her to control both her sisters, and she was always the leader in any of their childish games. When she started Hogwarts she became distant from both hers sisters. Andromeda in particular who, when she later went to Hogwarts viewed her elder sister as cruel - especially in her treatment of muggleborns. This was made worse when Bella heard of her sister’s sympathy for mudbloods making Bella label her as a blood traitor, even before she had officially fled the family. On the other hand, being four years younger then herself, Narcissa had always viewed her as an annoying little girl. But by Narcissa's fifth year her little sister had grown up and they began to become closer as Narcissa grew. Now while Narcissa may not always approve of her unrestrained nature and there is friction because of the Dark Lord they still care for each other dearly. Bella always viewed her mother as an annoyance. Everything Belatrix did not want to be her mother represented, being only a wife and mother (in Bella's view anyway). These negative feelings only increased, as she grew and her mother kept pestering her about marriage. However, her relationship with her father is the opposite. Bella had always admired him and wanted to be like him. This attitude made her participate in traditionally 'male' pursuits, such as duelling. Her father, for his part, was proud of his daughter’s achievements in these areas seeing her as the closest he could get to a male heir. At age eleven like all children she entered Hogwarts. Throughout Hogwarts she was an intelligent student, though not passionate about her education. She did little study in anything she was not interested or viewed as useful. Generally this led her to excel in more practical subjects. Being a traditional Black many viewed her as arrogant, specifically those less than pure blood she. She quickly found her niche in Slytherin, with a group of those who shared her ideas. Rodolphus Lestrange was one of them. Among the many relationships she had at school he was one. In fact they dated more than once. In some ways it was serious, and Rodolphus certainly viewed it that way. Not wanting to be tied down, at that point in her life she ended their relationship. Her true passion became the pureblood cause. After hearing about the Death Eaters, Bella became obsessed and determined to join them, even going so far as clipping articles out the Prophet every day. Her uncle Rosier (Evan Rosier's father) hearing about it, introduced her to the Dark Lord. She was obsessed straight away and determined to prove herself, which she did, finding her place amongst the mostly male group. After only a few months her admiration for him became more than what she should have felt for her master. Bella knows such feelings could never be reciprocated. Recognising this fact she decided to marry. Remaining close to Rodolphus during this time, having introduced him to the Dark Lord, she began to pursue him. Being reasonably fond of him and him being everything she could want in a husband: loyal to the cause, pureblood, handsome, etc she married him. She never grew to love him, but in some ways she does care for him. As the years went by her position in the Death Eaters grew and so did her devotion. She would never admit it, but she grew to love the Dark Lord. As such, when he fell she was devastated, more than any one else ever was. She was desperate, searching anywhere and everywhere. That it why, when there was even the slight chance that the Longbottom’s would know where he was she ran to them. Out of desperation and grief, she tortured them it was only when the aurors came that she was stopped. At her trial she refused to denounce the Dark Lord. She was sentenced to life. Her years in prison were unimaginable, every bad memory was brought into her mind constantly, but yet she remained loyal and never thought he would abandon her. The day he broke her and the rest of the Death Eaters was a great relief and joy. She was a changed woman in looks and she was more restrained in life, but mad seems too extreme. She still strove to serve her Lord which she tried at the ministry, however while she did succeed in killing her cousin the prophecy was lost and her Lord was furious | | credit to splott at rp_tutorials | | | 8:08 pm |
